My heart and prayers go out to all those affected by the April 3, 2012 tornadoes. Steve and I were headed to Tucson, Arizona at the time and were in DFW about to fly out when the tornadoes hit. Here is a picture I took with my iPhone of the hail in DFW that day.

Hail on DFW roof top
Once in Tucson, we headed to the own of Tubac which is Southern Arizona’s Artist Colony. They have an annual art festival – I found the description of this event on the Tubac Chamber of Commerce site
“Every February, the Tubac Chamber of Commerce is proud to sponsor the Tubac Festival of the Arts. The major event of the year for Tubac showcases the work of hundreds of visiting artists, craft persons and musicians from around the country and Canada. While the show is juried for quality, it is not pretentious. Serious paintings share the street with whimsical sculptures and New Age music. In addition to Tubac’s many fine restaurants, during Festival you’ll find a food court packed with delicious treats.” – www.tubacaz.com

Gotta love it! One stop shopping for gas and fine art in Tubac, AZ

We also played a little golf for Steve's birthday while in town. This is the Rancho Course at Tubac Golf Resort in Tubac, AZ

I had to snap of picture of the new baby calf hanging out on the course as we were teeing off.
Now, I am a jewelry designer. I’m always teaching myself new techniques and am constantly on the hunt for the perfect beads and materials to inspire my next necklace or bracelet or pendant. I love little towns with so much art influence like Tubac, AZ, you can’t help but be enchanted. Even back home in Texas, there are so many great places to spark my creative side. Where do you find your beads or rather, where do you get your creative inspiration from? Leave me a comment with the places your artist side is drawn to.
